“Daniel in the Lion’s Den” is a story from the Bible, specifically found in the Book of Daniel, chapter 6. It tells of Daniel, a faithful servant of God, who rises to prominence in the Babylonian kingdom. Jealous officials plot against him by persuading King Darius to issue a decree forbidding prayer to anyone but the king for thirty days.

 

Despite the decree, Daniel continues to pray to God, leading to his arrest. As punishment, he is thrown into a den of lions. However, God protects Daniel, and the lions do not harm him. The next morning, the king is overjoyed to find Daniel unharmed. As a result, the conspirators are thrown into the den instead, and Daniel’s faithfulness is celebrated.

 

This story highlights themes of faith, divine protection, and the consequences of envy and treachery.
