*WHO SPEAKS/WHO SHOULD SPEAK WITH TONGUES? ( I )*
*Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;*
*Tongues are for those who believe. Those who believe what? The previous verses explains better.*
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Vs 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Tongues are for those who believe in the gospel of Christ (redemptive work). So what makes it possible is faith in Christ alone.
There are instances in which those who believed spoke in tongues; which is a sign of those who believed.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
All referring to the 120 disciples spoke with tongues no one was exempted.
Acts 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. Vs 18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Vs19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. Vs 20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
Philip called for the apostles to lay hands on those who believed and every one of them received. Simon seeing this offered money to receive of the gift. Peter rebuked him. The word ‘matter’ implies to say. What Simon saw was the utterance which was a result of the laying on of the hands of the apostles.
Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Ananias laid hands on Paul and he was filled with the spirit.
*Confession:* Every believer can speak with tongues, I am a believer so I speak with tongues.
