*The role of gatherings*
Physical meetings play an important role and impartation purposes. Paul spoke a lot about being physically present with the Churches he reached out to.
Romans 1:10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
Vs 11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift,to the end ye may be established;…
Vs 13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
There are things letters can never impart and transmit.Paul laid a lot of emphasis on seeing them.
1st Corinthians 16:17 I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.
Supply that which is lacking. Not via letters.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE GATHER
1st Corinthians11:17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
Every time we gather, it is to get better.
1st Corinthians14: 26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
That’s the way the Church receives edification. Edify means to build up.
Hebrews 10: 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Vs 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Forsaking implies
1) Not attending
2) To disregard it
The believer must always be found in the midst of other believers.
CONFESSION: I refuse to disregard my local Church meetings. I choose to be regular.
